3221 Commerce Street, previously
the Chevrolet Motor Company Building, was constructed in 1923.
The horizontal bands of concrete, brick, glass, and unique wood
windows epitomize the industrial influences in architecture that
were prevalent at the dawn of the 20th century. 3210 Main Street,
formerly the Lincoln Paint and Color Co./Acme Manufacturing Company,
was built in 1910. This building was one of the first in Deep
Ellum. Both buildings, among the first of their kind, were vital
to the rapid growth of what is presently the Deep Ellum area.
The
buildings at 3221 Commerce Street, 3200 and 3210 Main Street are
known as the Futura Lofts. Aptly named, these lofts are state-of-the-art
with designs geared toward a lifestyle of the 21st century. The
conversion transformed the building into 88 warehouse loft units,
boasting of exposed concrete and brick with high ceilings. The
views are sure to take your breath away as the backdrops of Deep
Ellum, Fair Park, and Downtown Dallas surround you.
